Next Monday is known as Blue Monday, often called the most depressing day of the year but how about escaping into another world for just €6.50?

On Monday 20 January, all tickets for every film at Gate Cinemas will be just €6.50 all day long at both locations at Market Sq. in Mallow and Market Green in Midleton. Now in its third year, the Blue Monday promotion is a hit with customers, helping them swap the January blues for the magic of the big screen. The offer is nearly a 50% discount on tickets.

The idea of Blue Monday was first introduced in 2004, when psychologist Cliff Arnall created a formula identifying the third Monday of January as the year’s gloomiest day.

With factors like weather, post-Christmas debt, failed New Year’s resolutions and low motivation, it’s easy to see why. Gate Cinemas invites everyone to turn it into the most entertaining Monday of the year.

Movies on offer include the critically acclaimed ‘Better Man’ (the Robbie Williams story from the director of ‘The Greatest Showman’), the stunning Bob Dylan biopic ‘A Complete Unknown’ starring Timothée Chalamet, or family fun with ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3.’ With plenty more great films showing, check out GateCinemas.com for full listings and to book tickets.
