Spring clean your home

There’s something very therapeutic about a spring cleaning after the winter months.

Apart from the aesthetics of having a clean home, dusting, mopping, etc is also good for your health helping to get rid of nasties like allergies or viruses.

Here are some tips for your next spring cleaning session:

Declutter and remove any items you don’t need anymore. Even that drawer full of chargers and cables can be given a good clean out.

If any item is still in condition, think about donating it to give it a second chance.

If it’s a deep cleaning you’re looking to do, do some research on shampooing carpets or window cleaning. Be careful!

Rome wasn’t built in a day. Maybe start with one room and move onto the another the next day. This might also help you feel less overwhelmed.

What is lurking behind those couches and appliances? Don’t forget those hidden areas.

Of course, if you do little bits every day, having a clean home is a lot more achievable. Think about how technology can help you. Could a robot hoover be your best friend in cleaning your home?

Then there’s other things habits that can be implemented like making your bed each morning, cleaning as you go, do a daily load of laundry or filling the dishwasher as soon as possible.

There’s also hygiene benefits to cleaning so why not disinfect high-touch surfaces daily, wash your towels and bed sheets regularly, open your windows to improve air circulation, clean the bathroom with antibacterial cleaners and then hoover and mop floors frequently

If all of this seems a little overwhelming or daunting, why not motivate yourself by listening to your favourite music, get help from family and housemates or reward yourself with a cuppa and a treat after it’s all done. Happy cleaning.
