Man and woman found dead in Kerry

A postmortem on two bodies found in Kerry on Tuesday will determine the course of an investigation.

The bodies of a man and a woman, both believed to be in their 50s, were discovered at a bungalow in Glenbeigh. They have since been named as David and Hazel Byrne who had been living there for a number of years but it’s believed they were from Mallow.

The scene was preserved and an examination by the Garda Technical Bureau has taken place.

Early indications suggest they were undiscovered for a period of time, since late 2024. It is reported they were found by Kerry County Fire Service when they entered the home. Carbon monoxide poisoning is one of the causes of the death being looked at.
