Nothing beats being there but a new partnership means that Cork City fans can get the next best thing!
Cork City FC and Arc Cinema on North Main Street have come together means that some of the club’s away games for the 2025 season will be shown on the big screen this season in what is a first for a League of Ireland team.
The aim is to give fans who can’t travel a chance to have a memorable experience and show their support for their team.
With a giant curved screen and Dolby Atmos surround sound system, the experience is going to feel much more like you’re there in person.
Under the agreement, ads for Cork City FC will also be shown before every movie along with other movie trailers to help promote the experience, meaning you’ll be seeing the team before watching the new Captain America movie or the terrifying new horror ‘The Monkey’.
Anthony O’Sullivan, Commercial Manager of Cork City FC, said: “The support from City fans has remained solid throughout the years, and we know that while many of them would like to go to the away games, the distance means it’s not always possible. This new partnership will give them an opportunity to see some of those games on the big screen along with a crowd, which is a first for any League of Ireland football team.”
Aoibhín Gallagher, Assistant Manager at The Arc Cinema added: “Cork City FC is a huge part of the culture of Cork, and we are more than delighted to support the club as they embark on a new season in the Premier Division. We are really looking forward to showing some of the big away games on the big screen, where people can enjoy all the action along with fellow supporters, which we believe will create a family-fun atmosphere for those who are not able to travel.”
