Lov-lee day to walk in pink
Will you Walk in Pink for breast cancer research this Mother’s Day? That’s what the National Breast Cancer Research Institute (NBCRI) is asking everyone to do in Cork at the end of the month. Funds raised from the charity walk will help the NBCRI get one step closer to a cure.
Take a stroll, walk the dog, get together with family and friends on Mother’s Day, Sunday 30 March, and help make a difference for the many Irish women dealing with breast cancer.
A spokesperson for NBCRI said: “One in seven Irish women will be diagnosed with breast cancer, with over 3,587 cases diagnosed annually. Funds raised from the walk, which the Cork Independent is a proud media partner of, will go directly to support the breast cancer research team at the Lambe Institute, University of Galway.”
Cork’s Walk in Pink will take place along the Lee Fields. Those taking part are asked to assemble from 10am at The Kingsley Hotel car park, walk along the Lee Fields and return to the hotel. To take part, simply register online at WalkInPink.ie for €25 and you’ll also get a free Walk in Pink Bobble Hat.
“Let’s get walking for breast cancer research,” added the spokesperson.
